Full moon by years
Each month, the moon passes through four phases, or quarters. She then "looks" at us with a full round disk, then begins to decrease, becoming a sickle, and then disappears completely from the sky, and then again appears to us in the form of a growing sickle. The phase change occurs because the Earth stands between the Moon and the Sun at approximately the same time intervals. Therefore, the shadow of our planet obscures the moon - partially or completely. Each phase of the Moon continues 7.4 Earth days, and the record of the lunar phases begins with a new moon. Each phase of the Moon corresponds to one of the four natural elements - fire, earth, air or water. Every 7 days there comes a new lunar phase.
