According to scientists, before on Mars was a large ocean
Scientists have conducted a number of studies, during which it was possible to study the process of creating channels on Mars. It was found out that earlier on the Red planet was a huge ocean. Therefore, the network of Martian channels became the consequence of powerful water flows.
Scientists believe that the formation of these channels will require almost 10 times more water than in the largest lake of the Earth. These conclusions were made by the researchers after studying three-dimensional maps of the Martian surface. The channels on Mars were created for many years in the presence of a stable hydrosphere layer with oceans, sediments and large bodies of water. The find confirms that Mars was not always dry.
